Mileage Rates Released

The IRS issued the 2012 standard mileage rate used to calculate the deductible costs of operating an automobile for medical purposes. Beginning on January 1, 2012, the standard mileage rates for the use of a car (also vans, pickups, or panel trucks) will be 23 cents per mile driven for medical purposes. The new medical rate has been reduced by 0.5 cents per mile from the 2011 rate. [Read Article]
